Hand-painted exterior signage
In partnership with Built On Hospitality
The exterior signage mural for Chief’s Coffee & Cocktails was a meaningful project that allowed me to bring clean, bold typography into a neighborhood space. I was asked to hand-paint the primary exterior lettering for this cozy cocktail and coffee parlor in NoDa, Charlotte. The goal was to blend classic charm with clear visibility, creating a look that feels welcoming, polished, and true to the brand’s personality.
Painting at scale and on scaffolding in unpredictable weather made this project both technical and rewarding. It pushed my lettering skills and required a steady balance between precision and adaptability. It was satisfying to watch the type treatment come to life on the building and to see how a simple, confident design can set the tone for a space.
I appreciated the trust and creative freedom given to me and enjoyed contributing to a brand that values warmth, clarity, and community presence.
